Some films entertain by taking you to a different place to meet interesting new characters. Happy Valley takes you home to a very familiar place with a cast that could include you or me.

The true story depicted in this award-winning film reveal a growing epidemic of drug abuse in the so-called Happy Valley. The film has been called both eye-opening and uplifting (not an easy combination).

The film opens March 26th, though it is unclear where the film will play. Keep an eye on your local theater listings. For more information or to watch the trailer online, visit the film’s home page.

Controversy has surrounded Clean Flicks and similar businesses since the first edited copies of Titanic were sold in Utah Valley years ago. Un-R-Rated movies edited for content have become popular with Saints tired of missing out on new movies. These clean versions are equally as unpopular with directors, writers and producers seeking to protect their art.

So, who knows better what material is appropriate to play in your home? Perhaps more important, I’ve always wondered if edited crap is any better than unedited crap. Whatever your take on content-edited movies, you’ll want to look for the forthcoming documentary (yet to be named) by Andrew James and Joshua Ligairi.
