September Dawn, now in production takes place during the Mountain Meadows Massacre (in which Mormon settlers and Indians killed 120 men, women and children). The film, a romance featuring Jon Voit does not portray the Church as a whole at fault, rather the fault of a “renegade Mormon group”.
