What are the benefits to being a member of the Church? We’re talking temporal benefits, not the obvious “salvation” answer. Find out Brad Wilcox’s answer in his latest talk on CD, Stay in the Lifeboat: Don’t Let the World Pull You Under.
I first saw Brad Wilcox speak at EFY in 1997. It takes a lot to impress a teenager, and Brother Wilcox went above and beyond the call of duty. Not only is he entertaining, but it’s nearly impossible to not feel of the love he has not only for Jesus Christ, but also his teenage audience.
Now, almost 11 years later, Brother Wilcox still impresses me. His talk, Stay in the Lifeboat: Don’t Let the World Pull You Under is fabulous. He answers the question posed to him by the father of a young man who wanted to baptized into the LDS Church: What are the temporal benefits of being a member of the Church? It’s not often we think of the temporal benefits because the spiritual ones are so great, but Brother Wilcox outlines both types of benefits and how they are linked to our eternal happiness.
I think this talk would be great for all members of the family, not just teenagers. You can find Stay in the Lifeboat: Don’t Let the World Pull You Under at Deseret Book stores or online at www.DeseretBook.com.
