It starts off with an innocent ad in a pharmacy journal: “Be your own boss. Quaint, small-town atmosphere. Pharmacy sale a must.” Paul Randall is intrigued. He needs a new start in his life, and what better than his own pharmacy? But what he finds in Crescent Cove is a dangerous secret - one that will put his life in danger.
Just a year and a half earlier, Paul lost his wife, Debbie, to a drunk driver. His life hasn’t been the same since then, and when he finds the for sale ad in a pharmacy journal, he strangely drawn to it. He sells his home and most of his possessions, and makes the leap into the great unknown. But just days after his new job begins, strange things start happening and he’s warned that there’s a lot of secrets in Crescent Cove that he doesn’t know about. Things he’s warned that he doesn’t WANT to know.
Meanwhile, a young nurse by the name of Bria finds herself in a strange, isolated hospital where all of her nurses are named “Nurse Jones” and her doctors are “Nurse Smith”. At first she has no recollection of what brought her to this strange place, but as she regains her memory, she knows that she must escape - even if it costs her her life.
You’ll have to read Do No Harm by Gregg Luke to discover what is so dangerous about Crescent Cove. It’s a thrilling mystery with a deadly ending.
If you’re looking for a quick, not-to-deep mystery thriller, Do No Harm fits the bill. I actually wished it were more involved. It ended much to quickly for me and left me wondering about the intricacies of the whole situation. Gregg Luke has the talent for a deeper, more complex novel - perhaps one in the national market.
